Australia Bound

Our sweet friends, Randy, Tara & Adelaide are leaving for Australia next Saturday. We are so thankful for them and that we got to see them and hang out one last time before they begin their next adventure.

Here's Adelaide, who really liked our kitty - mostly because he kept running away from her. She liked that hard-to-get game.

Cheryl's 30th Birthday

Well, I'm no longer in my 20s. I'm embarking on my fourth decade... My sweet husband showered me with fun all week long and I felt thoroughly celebrated. Thanks to all those I love who celebrated with me.

I'm sad that I don't have a picture (although, it would be gross if I did) of my favorite birthday moment. As we were going to bed, our cat, Salomon, jumped on the bed. He had a foot-long curly pink ribbon hanging out of his bottom. Apparently, he was really excited about the balloons we brought home and he thought he'd just eat some. Unfortunately, it didn't come out quite as he'd hoped. So a very grossed-out Casey had to assist with the removal of the remaining 12 inches of ribbon, to which kitty said a very loud "MEOOOOW!", as I was laughing hysterically... for hours... :) Just view the kitty picture above and imagine!

Beth's Birthday

My friend Beth had her 23rd birthday today and we got to have lunch with her and her 5 month old son, Shepherd. She was so cute in her pink dress and cowboy boots and, of course, Shep wore his "I love my Mommy" shirt for the ocassion.

Betsy Kaye Smith

... arrived on Friday, January 4th at 8:20 AM. She weighed 7 lbs 9 oz and was 19 1/2 inches long. She looks like her brother, Beau, but when she pouts, she looks like Brady. She has her mommy's dimpled chin. She's PERFECT! The boys waited patiently for their baby sister to come. Nanny beamed when she got to hold her first great granddaughter.

New Year's Eve & Christmas with the Hauns

We enjoyed our yearly New Year's Eve celebration, followed by Christmas morning (on New Year's day) with Casey's family. Morgan's boyfriend, Barron, joined us for the festivities. We wondered if Betsy would come right in the middle of all the excitement!

Alas, much to Holly's chagrin, Betsy waited to make an appearance...
