11 Months

Okay, so I decided to be strategic about red chair pictures - moved into the front yard. It worked pretty well, too! As we come close to completing our first year, we look back amazed: at God, at Jett, at the outpouring of love from our friends and family, at how life has changed and how complete we feel now. It is surprisingly hard to imagine a life without this little spark. I mean, really, look at that face...

Jett Remington Haun is 11 months old and his parents have happy hearts. Casey has really been spending a lot of time with him outside - riding bikes, playing with remote control cars, hanging with the neighborhood kids, "cleaning" the garage (oh my goodness, has little boy dirtiness begun with a vengance!) and they both LOVE IT! It's so precious.

Happy Springtime

It's that time of year when we start scheduling our days around patios and outside activities. It's a good thing Jett's an outdoor baby (unlike his mommy was). Here he is with our beautiful peach trees.

He loves playing with his friend Adelaide. She is always happy to sing him a song, or do a dance or make silly sounds that instantly make him forget what he's whining about :) YAY! Thank you, Adelaide!!
We got to have lunch with Tatu the other day. Jett crawled around on the ground, watching traffic and birds. He'd come over to our chairs and open his mouth like a little bird. Naturally we would give him food, which he would immediately take out of his mouth and crawl around with until it was sufficiently dirty, then he would eat it. YUM. Here's Tatu giving him a french fry - so cute!
Yep. He still likes to drive. He is always very happy standing behind a steering wheel.
Hope your spring days are full of sunshine, blossoms, hope, promise and new life.

Randy's Fiesta!

Randy wanted to have a Mexican feast for his 34th birthday and we were happy to join in the celebration. We had a fun, rowdy time - very appropriate for our friend Randy ;) Here he is blowing out his fried ice cream candle with Adelaide.

Jett is currently fascinated by anything with moving wheels, so a view of the street is always handy. It was snowing (AGAIN) in this picture!!
Jake and Shep Dreyer like to celebrate Randy's birthday in true Mexican style...
Here's the birthday boy with his lovely ladies:
Sweet Beth braved the snow with her boys: Jake, Shepherd and 3-week-old Rhett. He was by far the tiniest bitty person there and I didn't take his picture :( He was sleeping, so I'll say it was intentional and I didn't want to disturb his sweet baby sleep...
Love celebrations. Love good friends. Love good food. Left happy and full.

Spring has Sprung

Randy is such a hard worker that he wanted to redo his front flower beds on his birthday :) So, of course, the Hauns of Growing Green headed out to participate. Sadly, I left my gardening gloves at home. But I took some good pictures and did some good cheers...
Jett was showing Tatum his karate moves. She looks impressed, doesn't she?
Really, it couldn't have been any better for Jett. A wheelbarrow, Adelaide's scooter and tricycle, cars driving by, outdoors, mom, dad, friends... He was euphoric! And a little delirious since he only napped 30 minutes in our very full and exciting day.
Isn't that an apropropriate family portrait location for us? A mulch heap!
Jen came to join in on the fun and swept the front porch and sidewalk for Randy so he didn't have to on his birthday. But not before she loved on Jett and he stuck his fingers in her mouth, smeared cheese cracker slobber on her shirt and giggled uncontrollably. So funny!

It was a great end to a fun day. Hopefully the project will be finished sometime next week. Happy Birthday, Randy! So glad we get to celebrate you here in Texas again - that's the way we like it!

The Circus is in Town

The circus came to Frisco. And we got to see Lisa the elephant pull up the tent. Sadly, Jett didn't really care about the beautiful elephant. But he did really like the beautiful skidsteer tractor. Isn't his camo outfit funny?
The real attraction!
I'm sure if Lisa had made the loud noises that the skidsteer did, Jett would have been transfixed. I thought it was cool to watch her little elephant moves!

Thanks to Nanny, Honey, Holly, Morgan, Brady, Beau and Betsy for being such good company on such a beautiful spring day to have an adventure. Love y'all!!

Picnic with Mae and Shopping with the girls

During her spring break, precious Mae came to hang out with us on one of her three free days!! We were so excited! We packed a picnic lunch and headed to the park. I only managed one picture, but she took several great ones - she excels at photographic documentation. We visited, talked and walked. We missed Darcy while she was getting her hair done, but she's got cute hair now! Then we left napping Jett with Casey and met Darcy at the mall before we went to church. Thanks for hanging with the Hauns, girls!! We love you :)

Nobody Pinched Us!

Happy St. Paddy's Day! What a beautiful day it was. Our sweet neighbor even brought us some Irish Soda bread she made for an Irish Feast she was attending that night - so sweet. We felt lucky ;)

Jett has also discovered how he likes to eat dandelions and pansies. Thankfully, we have no shortage of either in our front yard. He loves his kitty, too! No one else runs away quite like kitty when Jett comes a-crawling...

Chinese Cooking Party

So, after the party at my mom's, our friend Mae invited all the students to her house to have a Chinese food cooking party. They went over in the afternoon to prepare the yummy food for our evening get together. And we are THANKFUL! When we arrived, Emily, Cindy and Mae were working away in the kitchen :)
Jett was a super star and had many fans attempting to make him smile...
Emily and her boyfriend Leo (who happens to be one of Jett's favorite people)
Emily made this dish with potatoes and tofu. She didn't know of an English translation, so she named it John Ding. Pretty funny name. Pretty delicious dish!
Thanks to all our Asian friends who made us good food and shared their evening with us. We had a blast!

Like a Fish...

Though the winter weather has forced Jett out of the pool, he has not lost his love for swimming. He got to play in the Strombacks' hot tub while we were in California, and boy, did he love it! He's been keeping the love alive in his nightly jacuzzi baths :) Sorry - we forgot his swim trunks!

The Party After the Party

So, after our friends with kids left to put them to bed and we put ours to bed, we had another party in the hot tub! Casey didn't know how to turn my camera on night portrait, so the one of all of us is rather 'steamy': me, Paige, Sean, Kim, Marci and Chris in case you can't see.

Paige and Sean came to the party even though it was their 6 month anniversary :)
The newlyweds and the birthday boy. Oh, and all their muscles.
Paige, Marci, Kim and me.
We love these people! I know Casey really didn't want the celebrating to end.

Pizza Party

Casey wanted to have a pizza party with our friends in California. So our sweet friends traveled miles to join us, some with multiple kids in tow, for food and fun. The Whitings came from Santa Barbara, the Barnetts came from Ventura, the Gentzkows and Freijos came from Long Beach and the Zakaryans brought us from Ladera Ranch. Whew! Casey was hoping that his parents might join us, but alas, Ricky had another bubble in his eye which prevented him from air travel :(

This is Gracie Barnett who just turned 1. Isn't she a doll?

The Whitings and Marci

Melissa and Daniel. So in love after 8 years of marriage :)

Mr. Blue Eyes. He's my favorite!
Here's Marci holding Isabella Freijo. Kim likes to make her hold the babies...

Auntie Marci with Asher Bean
Isabella and her beautiful mama, Meredith
Auntie Peach, Asher and Kimbelry
Casey decided to give Jett a bath as the party wound down and Augie Freijo decided to get in on that! His parents didn't mind as he usually doesn't like a bath.
The pizza was wonderful, the wine was superb. The company - the best! Loved being with old friends who we do not get to see as often as we'd like. Thanks for making the celebration so memorable.

Asher and Jett

Oh, these two together is more than pictures can capture. But here some of the moments I caught on camera.

Here, they both realized I had a camera in my hand and they were after it. I felt like I had zombies chasing me... Those are my knees they're climbing on!

Asher's Poppy makes those boys smile!

So thankful for sweet friends who walk through seasons of life at the same time... Love you, Asher Bean and your mommy and daddy.
