Afternoon in the Park

We got to meet Ava and her mama, Hannah, at the Grapevine Botanical Gardens. It was a warm day - it felt like TEXAS SUMMER - but we sure had a good time with those beautiful ladies. Ava was born 6 days after Jett, but she's been walking since she was 9 months! He got to try out his new walking skills around a pro :)

Her mama told her to give Jett and hug... This is how 13-month-olds hug. Adorable.

He wasn't standing up, so she sat down to relate to him on his level. Isn't that just like a girl? Ha!

Can't wait to hang some more with these sweet friends!

And He's Off!

Jett's been taking steps since Mother's Day, but never on his own volition. We got to have dinner with the Wortons and watching those big boys run and jump in the pool was just the impetus he needed. Casey and I were deep in conversation when I noticed him standing and walking on his own... lamb bones in hand. So funny and so cute! He loved playing with Caleb and Judah :)

Wrestlin'

One of their favorite pastimes. Makes me so happy to watch.

A New Cousin

We got to meet Grandma Pat and Papa Jack for lunch! And, on top of that, Jett got to meet his cousin, Evie. Angie's cousin had a little girl a week after Jett, so I guess that makes her his "birth 3rd cousin"? She's a cutie. They enjoyed their Chick-fil-A together :)

Ashley O

Yay! Ashley came to town! She came to record some of the songs she wrote - which are amazing - and we got to hang out for just a little bit. We'll take what we can get!! Love this girl :)

Jett and Casey headed to the pool, as usual

We finally got to meet Ashley's friend and housemate, Lyn. We'd heard so much about her, so it was good to meet her in person. Can't wait to visit them in Kansas City...

Brady Turns 7

For Brady's birthday, we got to celebrate with a yummy dinner and s'mores at Honey and Tatu's house. I told Brady that he was the best anniversary gift we ever received. We love that guy and are so proud of him.

Beau was having fun "cleaning" the hot tub with Baxter. This was right before he was dripping Root Beer in Baxter's freshly bathed curls :) Oh, Beau.

Ah! Relaxing all together on the back patio. My kind of party!

The Birthday Boy and his Bro. They are the cutest!

Opening presents...

Beau helping Jett walk. Sadly, we had to miss the s'mores around the fire pit because Jett was one tired boy, but I snuck a s'more in before we left :)
Happy Birthday to Brady! I know this year is going to be a great one!

Buddies

Jetty and Tatie-Lady are buddies. They really do love each other... Tatum is ALMOST enough reason for Jett to leave the safety of my arms for the church nursery :)

Big Help

Look at my new housekeeping assistant! He's amazing :) The house is actually not that clean, but he sure is cute...

"Put the soap in here, Mom."
I love being at home with this guy. He's got his whiny moments, but I sure do love hanging out with him these days! So thankful.

Lunching with the Ladies

It was a good week. We got to eat lunch with Aunt Mo and Honey! After lunch with Mo, she bought Jett a birthday donut and he liked it :)

Then she held him while he watched cars in the parking lot (one of his very favorite activities).

Jett gave both these lovely ladies some snuggles - quick ones, but snuggles nevertheless. AND, he walked on Honey's front porch while Tatu recorded him :) He's getting so big!
Thanks for making our week so fun, sweet family. It was supposed to continue at Aunt Holly's house, but Jett got a sad tummy, so we were thankful for our good outings before our homebound days. And, we still have fun with Aunt Holly to look forward to when he's all better...

Mother's Day

Jett and Casey made me breakfast on Mother's Day. Then we headed to Lighthouse to hear Nanny, Honey and Holly run the service - they did a fabulous job! Afterward, we headed to Prego's with the Haun clan. Then to my mom's house to hang out with her for the rest of the evening. Happy Day!
Holly, it's Mother's Day - you're not supposed to have to butter bread!!

Jett decided to take his first unassisted steps on Mother's Day for me :) Sadly, we had no camera ready and he would not do a repeat performance... He did great, though!

Just Another Day on the Farm

We were long overdue for a farm trip, so Jett and I joined Grammy on her weekly trip. Jett, however, was not enthused about those large animal or the loud noises they made. He would not let me put him down. All day.
New baby cows.
My very sad Shetland, Little Bit, who apparently in my long absence has taken up Rastafari. I did my best to groom him one handed, but I could have worked on his coat for a week...

We'll have to keep going back so Jett can grow accustom to rural life :)

Scotty P's

Kids eat free at Scotty P's on Tuesday nights, so we've started meeting the Smiths and the Hauns there occasionally. We're thinking we need to make it a tradition :)

Jett is receiving some walking assistance from his cousins...
Betsy, being a cutie!
Sitting on Tatu's motorcycle - he's big time now!!

The Party After the Party

Honey and Tatu came for a little visit after the park party. Jett enjoyed showing them his new fire truck and reading his favorite truck book with Tatu.
