Daddy's Day

We got Father's Day Weekend - Saturday we chilled at the house then went to Lighthouse with Honey and Tatu. After church, we went back to their house and at Babe's chicken (yummy!).

Sunday, we got to have breakfast with Taylor then we went to Grammy's for another try at swimming. And this time it took - Happy Father's Day to Casey. I think he had a great one, which he deserves. I told him if they had a best father competition, though he's new to the game, I'm certain that he'd be in the top running. Jett gave a hardy "Amen" :) Half of the pictures are on Casey's camera card, which was left at Grammy's. So, I'll have to do a follow up post, because there are some gems!

Naptime with Daddy.............. Ahhhhhh!

Brady and Beau kept their newest cousin very happy on the drive back from church. And that is no small feat.
Papa Jack, Grandma Pat, Angie and David Ledbetter all came over to my Mom's. It was so fun! We had yummy pizza and peach shortcake and we did a LOT of swimming. Jett was tired when we got home.
Uncle Andrew - awwww.
Uncle David makes Jett smile.
Aunt Renee makes him smile, too.

Love you, Casey Don Haun! You're amazing...

Hanging with the Fam

We had quite a storm - bordering on tornado - blow through this week: Nanny's porch roof got blown off and our neighbor's tree ended up in our back yard! So... Casey to the rescue! We spent Saturday at Nanny's watching Casey, Ricky and Jeff re-roof her porch and then we came home and Casey cut up the tree in our backyard and our neighbor's. He's amazing!

So, I just took pictures of family :)

Sunday we went to Grammy's to try swimming, but it was too cold for little Jett! He was freezing, so he just loved on more family.

Smiley Face

Jett is smiling at us these days. It sure is fun! It makes up for the times that he's screaming at us :) He's also talking quite a bit - so sweet. Additionally, I have discovered that he loves to hang out on his changing pad without his diaper on. So, Jett spends a lot of time naked these days.

Jett's Honey & Tatu

Jett's Honey and Tatu sure do love him! They babysat Brady, Beau, Betsy AND Jett tonight, so Holly, Jeff, Casey and I could have a date night together... It was hard work! Thanks, y'all - we appreciate you very much!

Exciting Stuff

This week, two very exciting things happened:
Paige and Sean got engaged and Kaylee Esther Meyer arrived!
We're super happy about both events. Congratulations to our sweet friends!

Busy Bees

We had a busy week this week!
We got to:
- meet the Clarks, who were in town from NY
- visit the doctor unexpectedly (Jett's fine: he just had a few complications from more breastmilk, which is good)
- go to work with Daddy
- go to the farm with all four of the dogs. In the Prius! It's truly like a clown car...
-hang out with Tara and Adelaide while the Daddies worked on Saturday
-have a date with Aunt Jen & Aunt Ronna
- go to church for the first time AND
- go to a dinner party out.
Whew. I'm tired just typing about all that.

Working with Dad is tiring!

Tess was a little crowded and really wanted to get in the seat with Jett.

Jett loves Dakota the horse - he's ready to ride!

Despite appearances, I am not pregnant, but we do look like quite the Texans in front of the John Deere, don't we?

This is his "going out" outfit. Look at those shoes, dude!

Ceiling Fans, Exercise Balls, Headbutts and Spitting

We love our little Jett - his personality is really fun and funny. He is very vocal and has very strong lungs and can project his voice like a professional. He has no trouble telling us how he feels about things. He makes WONDERFUL facial expressions - asleep and awake.

Ceiling fans that are not moving are his favorite object to watch and can actually sway him from throwing a fit. He often purses his lips (like he's saying "Ooooh") at the fans. He loves bouncing and still requires that we bounce him in almost all of his awake time, hence the new found love of our exercise ball. We do get quite the workout these days.

Most nights I wake up to spitting sounds coming from my sweet little son. Serious spitting sounds - like a camel. Or a cat who's really mad. It's very funny. But when you hear the spitting, you know that you have about 2.3 seconds to do some serious bouncing under a ceiling fan before the vocal projection becomes more than you can bear.

I haven't been able to capture the expression yet, but my favorite in his repertoire is when he's coming down off of a screaming fit and sort of half-heartedly coughs. His face is the cutest thing I've ever seen when he does it and I can't help but laugh. But sometimes, he gets offended and decides to go full force into another round of screaming... SHOOT!

His rooting reflex is absolutely amazing. Not a feeding time that goes by when mid-nurse I try to burp him, that he doesn't headbutt me impatiently, vigorously searching for the next half of his meal. And not with the soft spots, either! He's just amazing and strong.
